June - October
Many bear viewing options involve seeing bears in a man-made setting like a salmon counting station. THIS IS NOT WHAT IS OFFERED by Ramblin’ On The Rock. Pure wilderness animals in a pure wilderness setting is what we strive for. We go to the wilderness to be amongst the bears and thus we are in close proximity to them at all times on a remote trip. Consequently we exercise stealth and strive to minimize our footprint to maximize our experience. This involves light walking to moderate or strenuous hiking/backpacking depending on the location and nature of the trip. Bear viewing is mostly done on river/lake systems with large salmon runs or on ocean tidal flats in sheltered bays..
